Next stop, Disney World

I had my triceratops stuffed animal and my blanket with me. I tried to take a nap but my sister kept waking me up. It is hard to sleep on the bathroom floor while a hurricane is outside.

My mom and dad let us watch at first. The trees fell and then the gazebo. After that they made us go into the bathroom.

We could hear the swirling sounds. Then water started pouring in from the vents.

After it was over my dad got us out of the bathroom. He put my sister on his shoulders , my mom held my hand, and we went outside.

Outside we saw that there was water in the road. It was as high as the tire on car that was parked in the road. Trees and street lights were down.

The next day we explored all the trees and limbs that were down. We would jump from tree to tree and pretend like we were monkeys. We made a fort with a sheet and I would hang upside down like a bat!

A few weeks after the storm, while I was running, I stepped on a nail. It went straight through my shoe and into my foot. My mom had to take me to get a tetanus shot.

We made a game out of everything that Hurricane Michael left behind. There were some left over bricks and we built an animal town. We had an animal hotel. An animal church. We even had an animal jail.

All of the fences were down and we met a girl who lived behind us. She goes to a different school but I am glad I have a new friend to play with.

My sister’s bike was damaged. She got a new one for her birthday.

Our neighbors had a generator and we got to stay with them. We could take a bath when a lot of people couldn’t. We were lucky.

My Pa-pop had to cut up the trees we were playing on, without us knowing. We cried. He said he would take us to Disney World and get us an Avatar toy there. We can’t wait to go!
